A Winter Story

October 18, 2024

Welcome to Day 17 of promoting my latest release - Time for Love. I’ve been working on this collection for about four years. The romantic collection has twenty short stories - ten about how a couple got engaged and ten about how a couple met. The story I’m going to talk about today is A Winter Story, a short story taking place on the First Day of Winter 2022.

Violet drops her watch on her way out of a coffee shop. When she goes back for it, Peter has it in his hands. Instead of just taking her watch and leaving, she asks him to sit down with her. And both of their lives are forever changed. What happens next? You’ll have to read the last story in the collection to find out.

How does this story relate to other stories in the gagengirl universe?

Violet is the daughter of Murphy and Eric, the couple in the first story in the collection - A Time for Love. Her twin brother Ryder also appears.

Peter is the son of Rachel and Christopher, the couple in the second story in the collection - Year of the Tiger.

Ryder’s girlfriend Chloe is the daughter of Claire and Keston, the couple in the third story in the collection - Count Your Blessings.

What can you share about Violet?

Violet is an 18-year-old college student. She’s disappointed that during their first semester in college, her brother seems to have found his true love and she has not. Meeting her brother’s girlfriend inspires her actions when she sees the cute boy holding her watch.

And what can you share about Peter?

Peter wanted space, so he left Seattle for Nashville to attend Belmont University. His mom hates that he only comes for a about a week and a half around the holidays. He needs to finish packing for his flight home when decides to stop in the coffee shop for a quick drink.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about this story?

It’s a romance, the story of how Violet and Peter met. This is a sweet romance that felt like the perfect ending to the collection. It was the second to last story I wrote for the collection.

Are you telling us about another story today?

Yes. Luck of the Irish.
